Step-by-Step: Installing Your Kitchen Pod
Our kitchen pods arrive flat-packed and pre-cut. With a few hand tools and an afternoon, you can have yours fitted and ready for the sink and hob.
Before you start
Every AB3D kitchen pod is CNC-cut and labelled, so installation is mostly assembly and fixing rather than cutting and guessing. Set aside an afternoon, clear a flat workspace, and read through the guide once before you start.
Lay out all the panels and check them against the parts list. Each piece is labelled to match the assembly guide. Loosely build the carcass first so you can check the fit before you drive a single screw home.
Fixing the pod in place
Offer the pod up to its position in the van and mark your fixing points. Most builders fix down to the floor and back to a wall batten or the van ribs. Always check behind a panel before you drill so you avoid wiring and pipework.
Worktop, sink and hob
Once the carcass is fixed, fit the worktop and drop in your sink and hob using the pre-cut cutouts. Seal around the edges, connect your water and gas to the appropriate standards, and add the drawers and doors last.
Take your time on the final alignment. Soft-close hinges and runners only feel right when the panels are square, so adjust before you call it finished. If anything does not line up, contact us and we will help.
